AFHE membership provides you with important information about educating your children at home in the state of Arizona and connects you with the homeschool community statewide.

Your membership support allows AFHE to watch legislation that may affect parents' rights to teach their children at home in Arizona.

Membership Fee

The cost of membership with AFHE is $25 per year for new and renewing members. Renewals made before membership expires will be extended one year from the expiration date. Note: AFHE Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Membership Card Processing Time

It will take approximately 10-14 days for us to process your membership application and mail your membership card. Please contact us if it is has been more than 2 weeks since you sent your application and fee if you have not yet received your membership card. Your membership is effective when payment is received.

Membership Expiration Date

Your membership expiration date can be found on your AFHE Membership card, on the label of your copy of the AFHE Journal, or you can contact AFHE at to check the status of your membership.

The AFHE membership database is held in confidence. AFHE does not share or sell the contact information or email addresses of our members.

Member benefits include:


Use your AFHE Membership ID Card as identification when applying for educator discount programs at businesses that offer them or when attending events exclusively for homeschoolers where teacher ID is required. You'll find a list of companies that offer Educator Discounts on the resources tab our website.

The AFHE member ID card is a laminated, full-color membership card that comes as an 8.5x5.5 postcard with pop-out ID card.


We are working on a new digital version of our Member Resource Packet, which is full of useful information to assist you in your home education experience.

Homeschool Arizona is the printed publication of AFHE. Mailed to AFHE members four times per year, this full-color magazine is packed with encouraging articles and practical information to help equip and inspire you as you educate your children at home.


Members can sign up to receive legislative updates and alerts plus a monthly enewsletter with information of interest to Arizona homeschoolers.


Families who belong to AFHE qualify for a discount on their membership fee with HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association). The discount code is included on the postcard you'll receive with your AFHE Membership Card.


AFHE members who register for the convention by the early registration deadline receive a discount on their convention registration fee.


AFHE hosts two graduate recognition ceremonies each year, one for junior high and one for senior high. These events are beautiful, reverent, meaningful celebrations of important milestones in a homeschooled student’s life … the transition from junior to senior high and graduation from senior high. Participation in these ceremonies is only open to AFHE members and is limited to students who have been educated at home by their parents in accordance with ARS §15-802.
