Each year, we invite a fantastic line-up of speakers to teach workshops on a wide variety of topics from encouragement and vision to practical, how-to workshops, new homeschoolers, high school, special needs, and so much more! Our 2016 Keynote Speakers are Zan Tyler and J. Michael Smith. We are pleased to announce there will be a high school track, a special needs track, and an early education track ... 8 sessions on each topic. Plus a variety of workshops covering many other topics!
Exhibitors are a key part of our convention and we encourage you to plan time to visit the exhibit hall at the Arizona Home Education Convention Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16, 2016. With over 200 booths in more than 80,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, you will find an array of some of the finest homeschool resources. We are bringing back the Buy It Here! program to encourage on-site shopping from our vendors. A number of cash prizes will be given away along with numerous donated items from our exhibitors. See it here, buy it here, keep 'em here!

CONVENTION PROGRAM ADVERTISING
Speaking at the AFHE Convention is by invitation only. Speakers at the AFHE Convention are carefully selected who fit AFHE's philosophy, vision, and mission, and do not conflict with the AFHE Board of Directors' biblical worldview.
As part of the speaker selection process, we will review speaker packets that are sent to us. Speaker packets are reviewed in August for the following year's convention and selections are finalized in the fall.
Speaker packets should include biographical information, workshop titles and descriptions, and a recording or two of the speaker teaching for our review. If we are interested in having you speak, we would contact you in October or November.

We are aware of a possible protest Friday afternoon about a mile from the Convention Center. AFHE is in communication with Convention Center event management and security and has been getting input from law enforcement. Our safety is their priority. Phoenix PD, Convention Center staff, security, and Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors are keeping a close eye on things pertaining to the possibility of this protest event. At this time, there is no expected impact to our group or event. The Phoenix Ambassadors will be on the streets (look for the orange shirts) and available to escort convention attendees as needed. The security guards will be attentive and the Phoenix PD is on alert and ready to handle any potential issues. The City of Phoenix does a fantastic job providing a safe environment downtown. There will be Dbacks games Friday and Saturday night across the street from where we'll be and there will be a healthy security presence
AFHE is taking this very seriously and we are doing all we can to stay informed and will send out an email if updates become available. Please be praying for safety and for peace. The AFHE Board is praying and we know that the Lord has a good plan for us as we gather together this weekend to get encouraged and equipped for the home education journey. Please be sure you are on the AFHE email list (link to subscribe on the home page - down a little on the left) if you wish to be notified if we have any updates on this situation.
