Convention 2004

The 21st Arizona Home Education Convention and Curriculum Fair, by all measures, was a success.  We hosted over 3700 attendees, filled 216 exhibit hall spaces with 131 exhibitors, and held 59 invited workshops featuring 19 speakers.  We added workshop space this year, so there was plenty of room for all and our streamlined registration process really “moved the lines”.  While it was a little warm, due to the mini energy crisis caused by local transformer outages, we were able to spread out in an expanded and more spacious exhibit hall.  We hope everyone enjoyed their time and was able to hear everything they wanted.  If you didn’t, you can still purchase tapes from Broad Reach at www.bestchristianconference.com

We were richly blessed by the speakers this year starting with the opening keynote address by Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler.  Dressed as General Washington, he encouraged us to teach history diligently to our children without removing the spiritual dimension or the works of God’s hand.  In doing this, we will encourage the next generation to pursue godliness.

R. C. Sproul Jr. challenged us to look at our work from God’s perspective and to “do God’s work God’s way.”  Following this, he presented his entire Foundations of the Christian Family seminar.  Marilyn Boyer, an inspirational mother of 14, shared heart-warming stories, practical wisdom, and a wealth of ideas she has gained through her experiences.  Her husband Rick challenged the men to be diligent fathers and encouraged everyone to never stop having fun. Sharon Hensley touched the hearts of many parents of children with special needs with her down-to-earth, practical teaching and understanding.

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this year’s convention a great success and to all of you who came!
