Parents teaching their teens at home or preparing to are
invited to join us for a very valuable, informative, full-day seminar
with special guest, Mary Schofield.
Our goal is that each attendee will leave with an individualized course
of study for junior or senior high school. Come prepared to
work!

Mary is a veteran homeschool mom, state leader, and a popular national
speaker. She has served on the Board of Directors for CHEA of California
(www.cheaofca.org) since 1993. Mary is the author of The
High School Handbook, Junior and Senior High School at Home.
She and her husband, paul, live in Placerville, CA. Both of their sons
are homeschool graduates.

What to Bring
• A notebook, plenty of blank paper
• A couple of pencils
• A simple calculator to help add credits quickly
• If you have one already, a book or two that you plan to use
next year (including textbooks, workbooks, literature, resource books,
etc.)
• If you are just beginning to homeschool, bring a transcript
from the last school attended - You'll want to have a handy list of
courses already taken.
• If your teen has already completed one or more years of junior
high or high school at home, bring a list of what subjects or classes
have been covered.
• If you own the High School Handbook, bring it along. Copies
will be available for purchase for $25 (includes tax) if you are interested.
The books is not required for the seminar.
Other notes & reminders
- Copies of Mary’s book The High School Handbook will be available
for purchase for $25 (includes tax) at the event if you are interested.
The book is not required for the seminar, but it is a really helpful
resource.
- We will have AFHE Tote Bags available for purchase for $10 each.
This is a really nice, quality bag with an outside pocket and long
handles for carrying over your shoulder. It is roomy at 15”
x 15” x 2”.
- Cash or check only for any purchases.
- Check-in begins at 9:00 AM with the seminar starting at 9:30 AM.
- Lunch will be on your own and a map of area restaurants will be
provided at check-in. Ample time for lunch will be provided and there
are an abundance of restaurants nearby. We encourage you to make new
friends and have lunch together!
- We will have cold water bottles available for you (free of charge).
Please, no food or drinks other than water in the sanctuary.
- Faith Family Church is located on Arizona Avenue (same as Country
Club Road) just south of Elliot on Comstock. The seminar will be held
in the sanctuary which is a couple of buildings back from Arizona
Ave. Look for the sandwich sign on Arizona Avenue and Comstock. A
