2008 Homeschool Night at the Diamondbacks

A review by Lynne Bazyluk

Arizona families scored two big wins at the August 23rd Diamondbacks game. First, the Dbacks clabbered the Marlins ... Go Diamondbacks!! Second, our families (with 500 in attendance) had an enjoyable evening meeting new people and seeing old friends.

Some of the highlights were:

  • Prize giveaways at each inning.
  • Three homeschooled students were chosen for the Hot Dog Race.
A homeschool teen announced the players during the 3rd inning.
  • Misty May, 2008 Beijing Olympics Gold Medal winner, was there with her medal to wave to the crowd.
  • A portion of each ticket sale was donated to the Arizona Homeschool Scholarship Fund, a scholarship program for homeschooled high school graduates for post-secondary education. Nearly $300 was donated to the fund through this event!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for this fun family event!
