WHAT FREEDOM IS LIKE
Ryan Russel, 8, Clarkdale
Poetic Form: Nonet

Freedom is like getting out of the zoo,
Released from a bully,
Escaping from the enemy
Everybody thinks freedom is best.
Dads stay alive.
Our churches are not burned.
Many people are not free.

AMERICA
Silas Russel, 5, Clarkdale
Poetic Form: Nonet

Anyone would not fight
Because they believe in Jesus.
Can everybody listen to God?
Do we go up to heaven?
I love the country that I live in, America!

THE WORLD OF FREEDOM
Emma Surrett, 9, Glendale
Poetic Form: Free Verse

In this world of freedom you can choose what you want.
In this world of freedom you can choose what type of Christianity you want.
In this world of freedom you can play your day or work your day.
In this world of freedom you can choose your journey.
In this world of freedom you can choose your friends.
In this world of freedom you can choose your words.
In this world of freedom you can choose your actions.
In this world of freedom you can choose what you watch.
In this world of freedom you can choose your time wisely.
In this world of freedom you can be who you want to be.

WHAT FREEDOM MEANS
Jill Surrett, 7, Glendale
Poetic Form: Free Verse

Our freedom comes from God.
We are free to be free and obey God.
We are free to home school.
We are free to like things other people don’t like.
We are free to love God.
Others are free not to love God, even though He wants everyone to love Him.
Freedom means we can choose between good and evil.

DEBT FREE
Kaitie Van Buren, 16, San Tan Valley
Poetic Form: Couplets/Free Verse

For everything we must pay
We do so everyday
But because death is the payment of sin
We never seem to win
To be conquered was a must
So for death would no longer lust

Death had to be conquered
It had to be won
The payment had to be made
It had to be done

One who was perfect
Whom sin had never touched
Paid for our sin
So we could win

With a perfect life
With the perfect death
With the perfect resurrection
With the perfect ascension

Sin He never knew
He never had to lose
For Himself He never had to pay
In any possible way
But pay He did
For our debt to get rid
So we could live
He gave all He had to give

TRUE FREEDOM
Jeremy West, 17, Phoenix
Poetic Form: Rhyming

Freedom is a freedom in and of itself
If you don’t revere it you will lose what was once a mere word misunderstood;
However if you put all your faith in it, it will consume you and leave you without belief.
It can be gone in a moment or be a part of you until your release,
Used for the purpose of finding ecstasy it can curb you from finding what you really need
Or if utilized correctly can save your heart mind body and soul from decease.
The world will tell you that freedom is good,
They will tell you that in a damaged world it will be bring you peace
But that’s only true if your freedom is the Freedom.
