Arizona Board of Regents Decision: Homeschooled Students
Receive Assured Admissions at NAU, ASU and U of A
Effective Fall of 2006, the Arizona Board of Regents announced
that students who complete home schooling who achieve the following test
scores shall be considered to have met minimum requirements for assured
admission to the three state universities:
Resident Student
SAT V+M › or = 1040
ACT Composite › or = 22
Non-Resident Student
SAT V+M › or = 1110
ACT Composite › or = 24
Mark S. Denke, Assistant Executive Director of Academic
and Student Affairs for the Arizona Board of Regents, communicated this
decision on August 23, 2005 to Dorie Duff, the AFHE Legislative Liaison
who is responsible for helping to pass legislation that resulted in this
decision.
These scores only apply for students’ receipt of Assured
Admissions. Ultimate admission decisions where student’s scores
do not meet these minimums are still available based upon application
to the admissions committee upon other considered criteria. Please check
with the admissions office of each school for more information.
