Congratulations to the recipients of the 2009 AFHE homeschool college scholarship awards!

Julia Tylor

The 2009 Wilberforce Scholarship was awarded to Julia Tylor. Julia has been accepted to the ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She will major in Print Journalism.

The Wilberforce Scholarship is a designated AHSF scholarship established by Tom and Colene Lewis that is awarded to a first-year student at a four year college or university pursuing a degree in one of the following majors or fields of interest: Journalism, Law, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, Economics, or related fields.

 

Rachelle DeJong

Rachelle DeJong

The 2009 Mona Peller Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Rachelle DeJong. Rachelle enjoys reading and writing, playing the piano and bagpipes, and teaching her thirteen piano students. For her fifteen years of Bible memorization she has earned the Awana Citation Award. This fall Rachelle will attend The King’s College in New York City, where she will major in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. Rachelle was drawn to this field of study due to an interest in politics and a scholastic passion for philosophy. She looks forward to continuing her academic pursuits in these areas.

The Mona Peller Memorial Scholarship is a designated AHSF scholarship established by EVCHE (East Valley Christian Home Educators) in memory of Mona Peller, an East Valley homeschooling mother who worked tirelessly to benefit homeschoolers valley wide. The Lord called Mona home in November 2005.
