The 2010 Arizona Homeschool Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Tappendorf.

Rebecca Tappendorf’s future goals:
"As a Christian, I know that the ultimate purpose of my life is to bring glory to God in everything I do. God has a unique calling on my life to impact His kingdom in a special way. For the next four years, I plan to attend Arizona State University as a Barrett honors student. I intend to study English, music, and Spanish. After college (and perhaps during college as well), I would like to be an editor, using my ability to easily find errors and revise a written work so that it is both professional and effective. With a degree in music, I hope to teach piano lessons or bless others in the church with my musical abilities. I would also like to become fluent in Spanish. Ultimately, I believe the highest calling for a woman is to be a godly wife and mother. Should the Lord bless me with a husband and children, I would love to homeschool my children and teach them to love Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength."

The 2010 Mona Peller Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Woodbury. She plans to be a professional musician, whether that be through performing or through teaching (or perhaps more likely, a combination of both!).  God has blessed her with musical gifts and with a heart for reaching people on a personal level, and being a professional musician is an excellent way to utilize both those skills.  After she graduates with a degree in vocal performance from Arizona State University, she plans to pursue either a Master’s degree program or a Young Artist’s Program, or to enter directly into the job field, depending on what opportunities present themselves.  She hopes to get married to a mature, passionate, Christian world-changer, and raise a parcel of radical kids on fire for God, with sharp minds, sensitive hearts, and souls full of wonder.

The Mona Peller Memorial Scholarship is a designated AHSF scholarship established by EVCHE (East Valley Christian Home Educators) in memory of Mona Peller, an East Valley homeschooling mother who worked tirelessly to benefit homeschoolers valley wide. The Lord called Mona home in November 2005.
