We have a number of exciting things taking place during this year’s AFHE Convention, including some schedule changes to highlight for you.
We have changed up the overall schedule in a way that we think will be beneficial to everyone from exhibitors to attendees. New in 2017, we will have an opening keynote Friday morning and a closing keynote Saturday evening.
Some of the benefits …
- We’ll enjoy a special kick-off and also a special closing to the weekend with a keynote at the start and also at the end.
- Earlier shopping hours Saturday.
- Longer shopping hours and lunch break in the middle of the day.
- Exhibitors will be able to begin the lengthy tear-down and move-out process a little earlier in the evening Saturday so they can get on the road and hopefully even get some dinner before 10:00 pm, too! All without reducing the number of shopping hours you have available in the exhibit hall.
- The convention will wrap up at the same time as usual, concluding with our big Buy It Here! Prize Drawing taking place in the ballroom at 6:30 PM as we’ve done the past few years.
Exhibit Hall Hours
With more than 130 vendors, the AFHE Convention exhibit hall offers a vast array of curriculum and resources, plus a variety of local venues, authors, and other businesses that may benefit your homeschool family. We encourage you to take time to visit the exhibit hall and check out the great products and services available to you.
NEW EXHIBIT HALL HOURS IN 2017
- Friday, July 7 – 10:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Saturday, July 8 – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
EXHIBIT HALL ONLY PASS SHOPPING HOURS
For those who are not able to attend the entire convention, but wish to come down for a few hours just to shop in the exhibit hall, we offer an exhibit-hall-only pass for $25 per adult that is good for Saturday, July 8, 12:00-5:00 pm. Exhibit-hall-only passes are available for purchase on-site starting at 12:00 pm July 8. As a bonus, we invite exhibit-hall-only pass holders to stay and attend the closing keynote at 5:00 pm in the ballroom.

Often we also offer a second pre-convention activity, sometimes a ticketed event and sometimes a free activity. This year we are pleased to offer a free college fair and financial aid seminar.
