AFHE Arizona Homeschool Scholarship Fund for Post-Secondary Education

The Arizona Homeschool Scholarship Fund (AHSF) provides eligible Arizona homeschooled students with financial assistance in pursuing post-secondary education from a college, university, or trade school. Arizona homeschool graduates who were homeschooled all four years of high school are invited to apply for a scholarship.

2019 Scholarship Application

  • Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating Arizona homeschool seniors whose families are currently AFHE members. Recipients are chosen based on specific criteria. Please be sure to read application information for eligibility requirements and details about applying for a scholarship.

    All students submitting an application and the required supporting documents will be considered for an AFHE general scholarship. In addition, there is a designated scholarship available which has specific criteria. If you meet the criteria and wish to apply for the designated scholarship, please indicate submit the additional items required.

  • I understand that while this application and materials will be held in confidence, it will be used as a part of the award determination.  

    I am aware that the recommendation of the Arizona Homeschool Scholarship Committee overseen by the AFHE Board of Directors will be final in the selection of scholarship winners.

    I understand that if I am awarded a scholarship from AFHE, my photo and biographical information may be used in publicity such as the AFHE magazine, AFHE website, AFHE social media pages, brochures, etc. I agree to allow AFHE to use my photo, biographical information, and excerpts from any essays that I submit with my application in its publications, both electronic and print.

    I understand that if at any time I receive additional funding from another source that covers full tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the upcoming academic year, I agree to notify the AFHE Scholarship Liaison. The scholarship committee and AFHE board will evaluate the situation and make the final determination as to whether the scholarship will be awarded, in full or in part, should I receive a full-ride scholarship from another source.

  • I confirm that my child was homeschooled in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes 15-802 for at least all four years of high school. 

    I confirm that that my child was not enrolled in a virtual charter school during the high school years and was not an ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account) contract student during his/her high school years. 

  • Designated Scholarships

    The following designated scholarships are available for the upcoming academic year. Please indicate for which of the following you would like to be considered, if any. The applicant must meet the specific criteria and submit the additional required items outlined below to be considered for any of the designated scholarships.

  • LEWIS SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA: The donors are looking for a civic-minded student with a Christian worldview who seeks to apply Judeo-Christian values in order to positively impact policy and culture.

    COLLEGE MAJOR OR FIELD OF INTEREST: Journalism, Law, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, Economics, or related fields. 

    ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT: A student-authored two-page essay on how your call to public life will impact the foremost challenges of our day for the Kingdom of Christ and the betterment of our society.

  • Submit Supporting Documents

    To complete your application, please submit supporting documents as outlined on the AFHE website via email to scholarships@afhe.org. All supporting documents should be submitted as either a pdf or Word document, with the exception of the student's photo, which should be a jpg. If you are applying for a Designated Scholarship, please refer to the details for that scholarship for any additional requirements.

  • Please provide a student bio paragraph telling a little bit about yourself, your interests, and your future goals. This paragraph may be published in the AFHE Magazine, if space allows, and on the AFHE website with your photo should you be selected to receive a scholarship. This paragraph should be 100 words or less and written in the third person.
