OUT OF STATE ATTENDEES: We welcome out-of-state residents at our convention and enjoy having a number of attendees from neighboring states and from around the country join us each year.
NON-MEMBER PRICING: New in 2017, non-member pricing is available, however even out-of-state guests may wish to join to get the best admission pricing for the AFHE Convention.

Adult admission is for an individual or married couple. Free spouse admission is included to encourage husbands and wives to attend together. The admission fee is good for both Friday and Saturday. Whether you’re attending as an individual or you can only attend one day, it is still a great value for all you get to experience!

VIP CONVENTION EXPERIENCE
We have an outstanding opportunity for a couple of very special donors who have some discretionary income and a desire to support the work of AFHE all while enjoying a elite convention experience with exclusive benefits.
Your name badge is your admission to all areas of the convention including workshops, keynotes, and the exhibit hall. Name badges must be worn at all times while at the AFHE Convention. Name badges may not be shared or transferred. First and last names are required on all name badges.
PICK UP YOUR NAME BADGE(S) ON-SITE
For those who participate in early registration by June 16, your name badges will be available for pick up on-site in the South Lobby of the Phoenix Convention Center. Look for the Pre-Registration sign. Name badges will be not be mailed. Those who register at the door will be issued a handwritten name badge at on-site registration.
We value the importance of grandparents in the homeschooling process and welcome grandparents at the convention! Non-homeschooling grandparents are always free if they attend with their adult child who is registered for the convention. Grandparents who are still homeschooling one or more of their own children must register separately and pay the admission fee.
CHILDREN AND TEENS
We love children and you are welcome to bring your child/children with you, if desired. This conference is geared for parent / teacher enrichment and learning, however, and space is limited in workshop rooms. We encourage you to make childcare arrangements, if possible.
Teens and children (age 3 and up) will be charged an admission fee of $10 each. Infants (age 2 and under) are admitted free. A curtained mothers’ area will be available in the exhibit hall for nursing/feeding infants. Children under age 12 must remain with an adult at all times.
CHRISTIAN TEEN PROGRAM
Homeschooled students ages 12-18 are invited to participate in the 2017 AFHE Convention Teen Program. Space is limited. This special two-day program is educational, and fun! The Teen Program registration fee includes admission to all of the Convention.
Unmarried homeschooled graduates that are attending college or still living at home may register for the convention at the $10 youth rate if they register with their parents. Married graduates or those living on their own must register separately and pay the adult admission fee.
As a means to share the vision of home education and to build strong relationships with Christian churches, we invite non-homeschooling pastors of Arizona churches to attend the convention free of charge. This offer is extended to pastors who do not teach their own children at home currently, but are interested in learning more about homeschooling. Please have your pastor contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive registration instructions. Pastors who are homeschooling one or more of their children must register as a regular attendee and pay the admission fee.
AFHE offers a special discount rate to first-time attendees. This offer is for adults who have never before registered for the AFHE Convention and is limited to the first 500 to contact us to request a coupon code.
First Time Attendees
Volunteers who serve 5 or more hours* during the convention can earn free admission. Those interested in volunteering will complete an online application. Once scheduled, you will receive a special registration link. Learn more about the many volunteer opportunities. *Married couples can split the hours, but must work a minimum of 6 hours.
Photographs or video taken at this event may be published in the AFHE magazine, on the AFHE website, on AFHE social media pages, or in other AFHE publications. AFHE does not provide compensation or royalties in conjunction with publication or use of these materials. Any photographs, video, or audio used by AFHE from this event will be used with the purpose of celebrating and promoting homeschooling in Arizona.
CONTINUING EDUCATION FORMS
AFHE will provide a Continuing Education form for foster parents, childcare workers, and others who need to accrue professional development hours. If you need a form, please ask at the registration counter. An AFHE representative will sign the form and the attendee will write in the workshops he/she attended along with the presenters’ names. AFHE does not have information about which sessions qualify for hours needed for the recipient.
AFHE will secure the services of an ASL interpreter for both keynote sessions as well as workshop sessions taking place in the South Ballroom. While we cannot guarantee we will be able to provide this service every year, we are thankful for the opportunity to do so again in 2017. A number of seats will be reserved at the front in the ballroom for deaf and hard of hearing.
STROLLER PARKING & BOOK CHECK
We are pleased to announce that we will provide a book check inside the exhibit hall on the right. You’ll be able to leave your purchases and strollers for a small fee with our book check team. Claim numbers will be issued to allow you to pick up your items or add to your pile.
NEW IN 2017: Due to space limitations and hazards due to blocked aisles, strollers will not be permitted in the workshop rooms. You may park your strollers in the book check area for a small fee. Strollers are fine in the ballroom and in the exhibit hall.
EXHIBIT HALL ONLY PASS
We are once again offering an Exhibit Hall Only Pass for those who have limited time and just want to come and shop. The fee for the pass is $20 per adult and is good Saturday from 12:00-5:00 PM only.
Exhibit hall passes may be purchased on-site starting at 12:00 PM Saturday at the registration counter. Passes may not be shared or transferred. Membership is neither required nor included with this pass. Children and teens are $10 each. Admission to workshops is not included.
BONUS: Exhibit hall only pass holders are invited to join us for the closing keynote at 5:00 PM Saturday in the ballroom at no extra charge.
Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Convention admission is non-refundable, but may be transferred.
If you are unable to attend, your convention registration may be transferred for a $10 fee. The person/family taking your place will need to pay the membership fee if they are not already a current member. Transferring convention admission is a one-to-one registrant transfer. For example, if you registered and paid for adult admission for you and your spouse plus two youth admission, the family taking your place could have no more than one individual adult or one married couple plus two youth ages 3-12 included in the transfer. The family taking your place would need to register any additional family members at the posted admission prices. Adult admission must be an adult individual or a married couple; it cannot be used for two friends who want to attend together. In other words, a friend cannot take the place of the free spouse.
Transfer of convention registration may be made to members of one family only. No refunds will be issued for unused passes.
Please note, this is the first time we are permitting transfers and will be evaluating the process to see if it is something we can continue in the future. It is our desire to serve our community well, while not putting undue burdens on our volunteer convention team.
